It’s in a good spot for Mayo buildings and has free parking, but I left disappointed. Some small parts have been updated, though most of the hotel hasn’t. The recliner in my room was dusty. Floors and beds looked clean, but the tub caulk was stained and the light switches were dirty. The mattresses were too firm for me, with only a thin liner between mattress and sheet. The woman at the front desk was efficient but rude, like she was trying to hurry me along.

The rooms were very clean and the service was terrific. The accommodations are basic, but the location near Mayo Clinic mattered more to us than fancy five-star features. This is now our regular place when we get care at Mayo Clinic - Gonda and Chartlton.

It’s affordable and close enough to walk to Mayo Clinic. You can also take the subway to the clinic without going outside, which is really nice. That convenience outweighed the downsides, and I’d stay again. We had a toddler with us and there was room to move around. The desk staff were kind, and everything was clean, though the room felt odd with a huge mirror across it and the bathroom was a little run down. We arrived around 10:30 p.m. and found the front doors locked, which seemed strange, but they let us in promptly. I didn’t care for breakfast, since all the warm items had to be heated in the microwave.

The room price was fair, and getting around Mayo Clinic was easy from here. I also appreciated how quiet and impeccably clean the hotel was. You can reach the hospital without going outdoors.

The covered parking is free, and there’s a direct connection to the Mayo Clinic subway. The place was clean, too. My partner didn’t care for the beds, but I’ve been happy staying here.
