The person at the desk was very nice when I checked in, and I had a nonrefundable reservation, so I continued with the stay. But the bed was uncomfortable and the room was mediocre and not very clean. The lot and arrival felt unsettling. There was garbage all around, including a large diaper box by the entrance. Many parked cars were banged up, people were sitting in or standing around them, and loud music was playing. One car had clearly been there a while, with snow banked around it and a broken rear wheel leaning inward. When I tried to photograph the building, a man jumped out of another car and asked why I was taking a picture of the damaged one. After I collected our luggage, a woman got out of her car, and marijuana smell drifted from her open door. Later, when my husband went out, there were people all over the lot and sitting in cars. This just wasn't my scene. If you want a comfortable night's sleep, go elsewhere.

I'm in Minnesota for work travel and have stayed at this hotel for quite a while. The staff are great, and the rooms are pretty good for the price. I'd recommend it to friends and family visiting too.

For a clean, comfortable place that's friendly but not fancy, this extended stay is a good pick. If you need something, just ask and they'll help. There's also a shuttle to Mayo.

At check-in I found out my driver's license had expired, so they wouldn't rent me a room. I showed my passport, which I knew was legal since I'd just returned from Canada. Even with that legal proof, he said he still wouldn't let me stay.

I stayed a little over a month while being treated as a patient at Mayo, and the affordable rates were why I chose it. This is a three star hotel, but I'm giving it five. Manager Jay was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Anything missing from my room, or any repair or special request for the maids, was taken care of right away. The hotel is clean but plain, with no pool or gym. I got my exercise by walking around the outside three times a day, and although renovations are planned in the near future, I was happy with my room. Jay supplied cooking utensils, and I ordered groceries through Walmart delivery and Uber. I cooked every day using the fridge, stove top, microwave, and plenty of cupboard space. The lobby has free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and protein bars. A shuttle takes me to Mayo Clinic, about 6 miles away. It's also easy to drive downtown. If you need dish soap, dish towels, or extra shower towels, the front desk can provide them. I saved a lot compared with staying at a hotel across from Mayo, and I'll definitely come back.
