Red Roof Inn Rochester – Airport

There was food left in the refrigerator and sticky stuff on the counter when we got into the room. I didn’t get my deposit back and was blamed for things that were already there. The room cleaners don’t seem to clean, they walk in and say everything looks fine. How do you leave food in the fridge? Disgusting. Don’t go unless you absolutely have to.

I woke at 4 a.m. with several red bites and couldn’t take the itching on my right arm, so I left. When I called to report it, the staff member just said, “Everything in the room is new.” That doesn’t rule out an infestation. The room smelled terrible, the bathtub was dirty, and the people next door were loud and smoked all night. I’ve stayed at many Red Inns while traveling from state to state, and this was one of my worst nights, by far. I couldn’t take it anymore. The $120 rate at check-in was already disappointing, and this was the most unpleasant stay I’ve had at one of these places.

The first room had a puddle in the middle from water damage. The shower curtain was moldy, and the towels were dirty, stained, and had people’s hair on them. There was hair and staining on the sheets too. The whole building was filthy and smelled of smoke and animals. I only needed a bed and shower, not a five star stay, but clean rooms are the least guests should get. It was foul, hugely overpriced for slop, and I don’t understand how it’s open to the public. The owners should be ashamed. The five star reviews are lies. Don’t stay here. I was charged over $100 for one night.

We couldn’t even stay 10 minutes before arranging another hotel. The blankets had cigarette burns, the air conditioner blew out stinky, smoky air, and there was pubic hair and debris on every layer of the sheets. We felt itchy just standing there. This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Hire better cleaners, this is embarrassing.
