The newly renovated bathrooms were nice, but the room didn't work for four people. When my suitemates and I opened the couch bed, there was no mattress, only pads. They were stained and felt like rocks, completely unsuitable to sleep on. In the end my three roommates and I had to share the queen bed because the room had no better option. That was a miserable fix for the lack of space.

The indoor heated parking garage and modern fitness center were nice extras. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the staff were attentive and quick to help. Being right in downtown Rochester made it easy to explore the city and reach its main attractions. We had a wonderful stay, and Courtyard Rochester Downtown exceeded my expectations. I'd highly recommend it for a visit to the area.

The breakfast area was short staffed, so getting coffee or food meant long waits. We were there during the big snowstorm from Feb 6-8, so maybe that had something to do with it. We were in town for a funeral, and the family spent Saturday night in the lobby bar because the weather was so bad. We ran up a tab in honor of the person we'd lost. Cruz and Aaron were great bartenders and took good care of us. The hotel was nice and centrally located, and the rooms were very clean.

Our reservation was canceled without any warning after our flight was delayed and we arrived late. Check-in was bad from the start, communication was poor, and the rooms were dirty. The windows looked like they hadn't been washed in ages. They wouldn't even offer water at check-in; when we asked, we were told water was only for Gold members and above. What? I won't stay at another Marriott.

The room was spotless, and it was so quiet and peaceful that I wished I could stay longer. Everyone I dealt with was incredibly kind and helpful. I can't remember receiving better hospitality, and I definitely plan to come back soon.
