Homewood Suites by Hilton Rock Springs

I had a very good stay and would come back if I’m in the area. It’s easy to find, clean, and well maintained, with friendly staff and decent amenities. It’s close to several restaurants, too. This isn’t a fancy resort, but it’s a clean, quiet place that works well for someone staying a few nights or even a few weeks.

The beds could use a topper for heavier guests, but mostly it was a good stay. Sierra is a real asset here. She works hard and greets me with such a positive attitude that I’m always glad to see her. The kitchen has wonderful cooks making some of the tastiest food in town. I’ve stayed in the same room twice, with service in between, and I’m positive all the bedding was changed. I use lilac-scented soap and have a lot of hair that falls out everywhere, but I didn’t find a single hair in the room. Love Sierra, she’s number one at this location.

A hotel is only as good as the people working there, and Jasmine and Sierra at the front desk really stood out. They fixed an issue with my room right away, on their own initiative, and even compensated me when they didn’t need to. Thelma was also exceptionally helpful the next morning. I’d left a couple of pillows behind, then went to UPS and caused a problem for myself. She sorted it out and sent them back to me. Breakfast was exceptionally good and the water was very hot, blah, blah, blah. The staff made the stay.

There were good things during the busy evening. The two staff members working after 4 until later were described as hardworking and supportive, and thanks to Amie telling Roberto about Hilton Rewards, he’s interested in signing up and staying here again since he travels often. He hopes the problems are addressed and that the two young women at the desk know what gems they are. The other staff behavior he saw was troubling. After breakfast, he noticed an employee asleep at a table. He understands food service can be demanding, but sleeping in a public area reflects badly on the hotel. If someone is too tired to stay alert, they should step away, take a proper break, or go home. Later, that same employee sat with her feet up and a heater on her while Amie handled phones, guests, and other issues. He also overheard a loud conversation about hours and someone allegedly lying to Thelma, who he guessed was a manager. The young woman was upset about being sent home and spoke loudly enough for guests to hear. No employee should disrespect a coworker in public. Guests’ safety and comfort should come first, and smoke detector concerns shouldn’t be dismissed as “not my job.”
