Super 8 Motel - Rockford

In the evening, nobody was at the desk when we arrived. I rang the bell several times and waited about ten minutes before calling the hotel. Someone picked up then. A relative had booked the room for me while I was traveling to visit them, but the hotel wouldn't let me charge the reservation to the card because it wasn't physically there. Once that was sorted, I went upstairs, where an eight-year-old boy was running and screaming in the hall after 10 p.m. His parents were arguing right outside my room during a domestic dispute, and his mother was on the phone with police. The room smelled strongly of mold. I tried to make do, but the bed was rock hard and the pillows were paper thin. In the morning, breakfast didn't open at the stated time, and the breakfast area looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I saw an employee mix yesterday's coffee with a fresh pot, and it tasted awful. There was no juice either, which disappointed my toddler. On top of that, an electrical problem in the room shorted out two chargers and our sound machine, leaving them broken. There are plenty of other hotels in the area. Spend a few dollars more and stay somewhere else.
