Best Western Rockland

Beatriz made checking in on my work trip a pleasure. We chatted a little, and she helped me practice my Español. She felt like the Tia I never had. The room was clean, the shower was hot, and the bed was comfortable.

The man who checked us in just before midnight on 9/22 was incredibly kind, easily the best part of our stay. Somebody should give him a raise! The rest was pretty average: clean rooms and an area that seemed safe enough. Breakfast was basic, though the waffles were good. The Febreze smell was definitely strong, but fortunately it was just in the hallways. Our room was fine.

The location was good, and the cleaning was quite good too. The room’s door felt pressed against something when I opened it, and there was a damp smell inside. Maybe it was dampness, or perhaps a previous guest had smoked. I’d put the room at around three to four stars.

Breakfast was the worst part. One woman kept watching how much food people took and muttering about things. I saw her scold a man for using the wrong spoon for his burger, which was incredibly rude. The early morning staff, two women, were also very rude. Rodrigo was the only attendant who was nice. The air freshener smell was so strong that I didn’t realize I was allergic until I stayed here. One night it completely closed up my throat. Terrible hotel.
