High Chaparral Inn

The heater wasn’t working, and this was in the middle of winter. The bathtub was the dirtiest thing I’ve ever seen, and there were unidentified substances streaking down the walls. I also saw holes in the doors, while the owner’s husband was trying to keep the entry door shut with duct tape. I’ve traveled around the country for 20 years, and this was literally the nastiest place I’ve stayed. If you have another option, don’t stop here.

My mom uses a wheelchair to get around, and the owner at the front desk looked at her and said, “no handicap.” That was all he said, with no explanation. It really hurt her feelings, and I felt he was discriminating against her special needs. I’ll be reporting the establishment to the federal government for discrimination.

The outside might put you off, but the room was clean and comfortable, with a very nice king-size bed. The price was great, and Sonic is right across the street. The owners were kind and considerate. I’ll definitely stay here again.

We got a room for our family of four, and it was nice. The owners were nice, too. We went without water for three hours while they installed a new water heater, but they gave us bottled water when we arrived, showed us to and through the room, and kept us updated on the heater’s progress. It worked well for a one-night stay.
