Evergreen Escape

The smell hit us as soon as we walked in, strong and unpleasant. We tracked down the liquid potpourri plug-ins and scented wells scattered around and had to move them outside. The portable hot tub was another problem: its chemicals irritated our skin, and running the jets made so much foam it was hard to manage. With the cover off, the heater couldn't keep the water comfortable, so it got cold in the evening and we had to get out. The house door knobs were so worn that opening or closing a door took both hands and a lot of force. A few times, we thought the doors were locked. One bedroom we didn't use had an old, cheap little LCD TV with a ripple in its screen, and it wasn't connected to anything. I figured it was just there as a placeholder or decoration. After checkout, though, an email said the TV had been damaged and that our card had been charged $450, four times what the TV was worth. There was no discussion, and the photo attached to the email showed more damage than I'd noticed during our stay. Good luck with these guys.
