Hyatt Place Chicago/O'Hare Airport

The highway noise from room 527 was unbearable. It’s a corner room facing hwy 90, and for an airport hotel I expected some soundproofing. I don’t know why, as a globalist during low occupancy, I was put in what felt like the worst room. If sleep matters to you, ask for one facing Mannheim road. Getting there was frustrating too. The shuttle only comes every 40 minutes, which is unacceptable for an airport hotel. At check-in I asked the FD agent to confirm departure times, but she never mentioned that I had to sign up. Guests shouldn’t have to guess at basics, perhaps provide a paper explaining it. There were also 2 long black hairs on the shower floor when I arrived. I’ve been a Hyatt globalist for 7 years and average 100 nights a year. This may be my most frustrating stay. The property seems to keep having the same problems mentioned in reviews without addressing them. I’m emailing corporate about this failed franchise location.

After our flight was cancelled in January 2026, we stayed here for the night. It was close to the airport, comfortable, and clean. I only realized during a flight later that day that I’d left an important item in the room. Shawntanice, the front desk manager, found it, kept it safe, and packed it once I got her a shipping label. She was quick to reply to my emails and calls while we worked out getting it back. I really appreciate her help. A heads-up about the shuttle: you need to sign up ahead of time for the hotel-to-airport ride. We arrived late and the morning shuttle we needed was full. It was no big deal in the end, since the desk called a taxi, and the airport is close enough that the fare was affordable.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, well above the usual cookie-cutter buffet at competing chains. I also appreciated walking into a room that was already at a comfortable temperature instead of freezing, a small touch that made a difference. The lobby furniture and layout feel both modern and homey, and the artwork creates a calm, polished atmosphere that’s unusual in a busy city hotel. The gentleman at the desk around 11:00 p.m. was courteous, efficient, and welcoming. I stayed overnight on January 11, 2026, and found the whole place well run, with real attention to guest comfort and the look of the space. I recommend it.

We chose the Hyatt Place for one night while attending Christian Nodal at the Allstate Arena. It’s right next to the arena, so the location couldn’t be more convenient for a concert. Everything at the hotel was clean, and the staff were helpful and polite. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and the free breakfast was a nice extra. We had an easy, stress-free stay and would absolutely recommend it, especially for anyone going to the Allstate Arena.
