avid hotel Austin – Round Rock South by IHG

I booked 8 nights through Priceline, and this ended up being the best hotel stay I’ve had in a long time. When I first arrived at Avid Hotel Round Rock, I met Stu, the managing partner. I had no money in my pocket and was trying to work out what to do. He took time to guide me instead of brushing me off, and gave me a little rubber Jesus with the words, “Don’t ever let Him get away.” I won’t forget that kindness. The people here made the place. Tim at the front desk was easy to talk to and gave world-class service. Erin, the GM, was accommodating and personally gave me $20 for food when I was waiting on funds and hadn’t eaten. Julianna worked breakfast one weekend and was sweet and incredibly hardworking. Alex on evenings is retired and works because he “gets bored.” He’s a solid guy. Housekeeping were kind, respectful, and always smiling. Even the corporate leaders who were onsite were approachable and open to conversation. The care felt consistent, not forced. I had a tough week, and this stay reminded me that good people are still around. The breakfast was fresh and consistently made with care. Rooms were clean, modern, and peaceful, and the 24-hour coffee and tea bar was a small thing that helped. I’ll remember my time here for a long while and hope to come back. If feeling welcomed and looked after matters to you, this is the place. 10/10.

The staff were helpful throughout my stay, sharing local tips, handling requests quickly, and making sure I was comfortable. Breakfast each morning had a nice range of fresh, tasty choices. I also liked how convenient the location was for getting around, with Waffle House, QT gas station, a coffee shop, and Walgreens all within walking distance. Check-in was smooth, the welcome was warm, and my room was spotless with the amenities I needed.

I was here for about a week. The rooms are tidy, everything feels new, and the staff were awesome. Before I arrived, I had a package shipped to the hotel and the front desk held it for me. Then I rushed to the airport and left my watch in the room. They found it so my friend could pick it up. I’ll choose Avid again next time I visit Austin. Highly recommend it, and a big thank you!

We paid $220 for Friday - Sunday. Breakfast was really good: I had sausage, a bagel, and eggs one day, then bacon, eggs, and a bagel the next. The rooms are on the small side, but that honestly didn’t bother me, and the hotel was clean with no strange smell. The gym had a good range of equipment. Check-in and checkout were both super easy. There’s a Waffle House next door and a QT gas station right across the way. I’d stay here again.
