Villa Arden Hills

I know this place well because I’ve brought family members here. The rooms look gorgeous, but every visit there’s been a problem. My first stay was well below average: we arrived at 11:15 to find beds unmade, dirty towels, used water glasses, unplugged TV cables, and a warm, smelly charcuterie platter left as an apology to the previous guests. Room service came by, and I told them about the mess when I stepped out to let them work. An hour later, only the beds had been made and towels changed. The cheese platter still stank, and the empty water bottles, used glasses, and used soap bars were still there. I’m not sure the sheets were changed. The shower was so clogged that water came up to our ankles, and a loud water source, maybe a fountain, was right beside the room. I had to sleep with earplugs. It’s such a waste of a beautiful space if the owners don’t take better care of it, especially for what we pay per night.

Anthony was a wonderful host and gave us personal attention during our two days at The Villas at Arden Hils. Our room was perfect. This will be my regular place to stay whenever I visit Sacramento.

We had a lovely night in the Capri Garden Suite for our 15th anniversary. With COVID, we hadn’t made other plans, so we decided to stay there. The Tuscan design is stunning, tucked into a garden oasis, and the staff took great care of us. We had dinner at Chavoor, then enjoyed a long soak in the suite. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful too.

Really enjoyed my stay. The rooms feel luxurious, and the Jacuzzi tub and separate shower were great, with strong water pressure. You can watch the TV from the bed or the tub.
