The Lyric Lounge was the one bright spot. The bartender was sweet and got to us quickly. The rest of the stay was awful. Our room had no trash can in the living area, and there was hair on the shower and in the towels. On our second night, the receptionist was incredibly rude when we asked for wristbands to use the pool. The website promised continental breakfast, but in the morning we found cereal and a waffle maker. We chose this place after reading online reviews, thinking it would save money. That was a mistake. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The staff made a bad stay even worse. When my wife asked why the icy parking lot hadn't been salted, the desk clerk asked what salt would do. We had to go to the front desk ourselves to get extra towels and blankets. After my wife slipped and went to file an accident report, that same clerk asked her to drop her pants so she could inspect the injuries. It was an upsetting, inappropriate response. The building seems like it used to be a nice family hotel, with rooms around a central pool, a hot tub and an arcade. But the place is in terrible disrepair. The shower head was just a pipe sticking out of the wall, the door latch was missing screws, carpets were torn, and cigarette odor was everywhere. There were only about two working arcade games. Pool lights had come loose underwater, which seemed dangerous. We stayed in winter; the lot had been plowed but not salted, and everyone in my family except me slipped. I can't see a reason to stay here. Even the supposed best in America's Best Value doesn't fit. If you're looking for an inexpensive place, there's a Motel 6 down the road. I'm sure they salt the lot. UPDATE: Thank God this place has shut down.

The first warning might've been how little lighting there was outside. Inside, the room smelled bad, the ceiling was coming down, and the bed and pillows were hard as rocks. The bathroom was dated, with unfinished wallpaper and flooring. The continental breakfast made my daughter sick, and I have to wonder how old the cream cheese was. The hotel was run down, and none of the amenities worked, including the pool, sauna and whirlpool. We'll never stay here again. Yuck.

The pool was closed, and there wasn't anything else for us to enjoy at the hotel. Only a few TV channels came in, the Wi-Fi was painfully slow or didn't work, and the only working ice machine was at the front of the first floor. Lights were out all over the building. There also wasn't anything to do nearby or anywhere to eat except fast food. Our room was filthy, with stained sheets, reddish-black marks on the curtains, and broken furniture and bathroom counter. The hall carpets were disgusting, with spots that looked untouched for years. There was a bad smell in the room and hallways, and signs of water damage everywhere. Check-in took at least 20 minutes because the woman at the counter seemed unsure what she was doing. We had to go back later to pay again after she got it wrong.

It looked appealing online, but the property was filthy and smelled awful. The hallways, floors, door handles and windows were very dirty. Stairwells smelled of urine, with empty liquor bottles and trash underneath. Spills were left on tables, and there was broken glass in several places. Some doors were missing room numbers, and the heating and air units were coming off the walls. The outside doors at the ends of the hallways didn't lock, and there were no outdoor security cameras. The bathroom had mold. The sheets were soiled and crumpled on the closet floor, and the towels from the front desk were wrinkled and smelled of smoke. This was extremely dirty and not worth the money, or even one star if the rating scale allowed less.
