Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Fargo Medical Center

Breakfast hit the spot, and the staff were fantastic. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel stayed quiet. Parking was easy to find right away. A great stay all around, definitely five stars.

We got in early from the train station, and Katrice at the night desk went out of her way to help us. She was so warm and friendly. Every hotel could use someone like her.

We stayed at Hampton Inn January 17th and 18th. Both mornings we went down for breakfast at 8am, but nobody was there to refill the food or drinks. By 930am, someone finally appeared and took away what little was left. We also couldn't find anyone at the front desk when we needed help. The pool was extremely cold, and the hot tub was very dirty. In our room, the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed or lock, and the bathtub paint was peeling. The heater was blowing cold air in from outside, so we had to put an extra blanket around it.

The rooms felt dated, though most of the front desk staff were great. Manager Marcie was a different story. After four nights here for work, I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place for a business trip. On my last night, three youth hockey teams checked in. Kids were screaming and running through the halls, so I asked Marcie if I could move to a quieter room, or at least the 4th floor to avoid hearing footsteps above me. She seemed disdainful about the request and was negative while trying to help. After about 10 minutes, she said she couldn't move me because my company had booked through a third-party travel agency. That's never caused a problem for me before. She didn't apologize, and I don't think she should be dealing with customers. At around 9:30 pm, I asked the kids myself to quiet down, but it didn't help. I called the desk and asked them to stop the kids running from one end of the hall to the other and yelling. I believe Marcie answered with, "What is it?" The kids were playing hide and seek, and I could hear every word. Nothing changed. Around 10:30-11, I called again and asked someone to patrol the 3rd and 4th floors and tell them to stop playing in the halls. The running and stomping were so loud my room actually shook. It was impossible to fall asleep or stay asleep, and the kids kept at it on both floors. I don't expect Hilton to ban youth teams, but when three teams are staying, I do expect some responsibility. From what I saw, nobody tried to remind parents of the rules or enforce a curfew. Instead, I was treated like a burden for making an "unreasonable request."
