The Stables Inn and Suites

There are two bar and grills connected to the hotel, and the sunny-window social area is nice. The room was small but cozy and clean. I'd stay here again.

We were moving a long distance and running behind, so we booked this room at the last minute for the night. It wasn't fancy, but it was a good price, seemed clean, and the staff were lovely. Parking our U-haul trailer in the lot was no problem. The next morning we walked to Mass and then a cafe before getting back on our way.

I found this place online for a better price than the Holiday Inn Express in Salem, where I'd originally planned to stay, and figured I'd try it. The staff were extremely welcoming when I arrived. Inside, the building had a vintage feel but was well maintained, and I had a quiet, comfortable stay. I was pleasantly surprised and plan to come back next time I'm in Salem.

For a stop while traveling through OH near the OH/PA border, this worked out well. The town is old and quaint, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Quaker Steak is right on the building's first level, which was very convenient, though that's the only place we ate. We stayed two nights. It was clean, parking was convenient, the ice machine was great, there were lots of nearby dining choices, and the grab-and-go breakfast was decent. The A/C and heater aren't built into the wall like they are in other hotels. The hotel is off the main thoroughfare through OH. The walls are a bit thin, so loud neighbors carry, and a small table would be nice. I'd stay again if passing through.
