Comfort Inn & Suites Salina North

The room had wet carpet that smelled bad and made the tile slippery afterward. Walking on the damp carpet barefoot didn’t feel good. At check-in, we had to ring a bell; when that didn’t work, we called 0 on the lobby phone, and staff then asked why we hadn’t just rung the bell. The WiFi only worked sporadically, and staff suggested my provider might be the problem. Breakfast had no fresh fruit, and my wife said the bagel was the worst she’d ever had. She was unhappy, so I was unhappy too.

I just needed somewhere to rest after a long travel day and was lucky to get the last room. It was spacious and nicely furnished, and the bed and pillows were comfortable.

I stayed in room 209 on November 15-16, and it was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever experienced. There was black mold in the shower, the sink wouldn’t drain, and crumbs were scattered over the couch. It felt nasty and unsafe, so I’m trying to get a refund, but no confirmation number ever came by text or email. If you’re traveling, I’d suggest driving farther for your own safety.

The washcloth I used to wipe dust and grime from the room shows how dirty it was. There was mold growing in the air conditioner too. I can’t recommend this hotel, and certainly not a Comfort Inn. Other Comfort Inn stays have been four-star excellent for me, so don’t write off the whole chain, but I’ll never come back to this one.
