Comfort Suites Salina South

I’ve been staying at this particular hotel since November 2025 and am due back this week. I travel a lot for work, and this is one of the best places I’ve stayed: it’s comfortable, clean, and the staff make you feel like family and really go above and beyond. The breakfast is great, with real eggs rather than boxed or bagged ones. The bacon and sausage aren’t the best, but everything else is. The pool was great too, warm like stepping into a bathtub. When there’s no ice, James will even get some for you from the other hotel, and he greets you like family instead of just another customer.

The only problem for me was the light coming around the curtains. Our first-floor room sat between spotlights aimed at the building, and the blackout curtains were too short and narrow for the window. That made it hard to sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was plentiful in a clean, well-kept area. The room and bathroom were very clean, even in the obscure corners, and the trash cans had been wiped inside too, which matters to me.

For a mid-$70s rate, this small suite was good enough, and I’d stay again. It was clean, quiet, bug-free, and close to what you need, with Walmart just three minutes away. The AC never got very cold unless cranked way down, the mattress was firm, and the pillows and bedding were alright. The shower got hot, but not steaming hot. A bigger suite and colder AC would improve it. I stayed two days, 11-22/23-25, in room 322.

The front desk staff were nice, but I can’t understand the good reviews. This hotel was nasty. I found clothing in the bed, so I’m not sure the sheets had even been changed, and it didn’t seem like they cleaned around or under the furniture. After seeing a huge spider, I started looking around and the room was disgusting. If I hadn’t already been charged twice for the room, I would have left. My three-year-old woke up coughing, and we both ended up congested after staying here. I strongly recommend passing it up.
