Springhill Suites Salt Lake City Airport

The breakfast area was dirty, with expired food and hardly anything stocked, and the hallways smelled strongly of marijuana. My room’s TV and AC both failed, and nobody tried to fix the AC. For the TV, staff just told me to unplug it for a while, which did nothing. The pool was too cold to swim in and had clumps of hair, chewed gum, and a used bandage. There was no hot tub, and the towels had brown stains. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed uninformed. For the price, this was a horrible stay. Save your money and book somewhere else.

The room was fantastic, clean, and so was the rest of the hotel. Everyone was friendly, and the woman on the evening shift even remembered my name and greeted me like a friend. One of the best places I’ve stayed. I’d definitely recommend it.

The gym is small, but it was kept in good shape, and breakfast offered plenty to choose from: yogurt and toppings, bagels, bread, waffles, and juices, including fresh juice. The room was clean and smelled fresh when I arrived. The interior has been updated, making this one of the better hotels around here. I’d stay again if I’m back in the area.

The front desk person was kind and helpful, but that couldn't make up for how poorly the room was planned. In the smaller bathroom, the sink was tiny and there was nowhere to put cosmetics, not even a shelf. The larger bathroom was badly lit, and the shower leaked. There was no shelf for toiletries or a spot to set a wet washcloth. Lighting throughout was uneven, with many areas too dim. It’s a new hotel, but it feels like nobody spent a night in a mock-up before building it. The airport shuttle only comes once an hour, and the one we wanted was already full. The room was bad enough that we won't stay at a SpringHill again. Marriott should be embarrassed to put its name on this brand.
