The rooms have that calm, simple elegance that makes you want to redo your place when you get home. They look gorgeous, but still feel relaxing, not overdone. We also appreciated having EV charging, since it let us city folk explore more of the NC coast. My partner and I stayed this past weekend, and Christina made us feel welcome almost right away. She was funny, warm, and accommodating, and remembered details about us and why we were in town. That personal touch is a big reason we’ll be back. The whole staff was kind, and the boutique rooms and service made this a stay we won’t forget.

The best part for us was the wooden boardwalk through the dunes and local plants, leading up to a deck with stunning ocean views. The outdoor gathering areas were nicely set up for families and other guests to relax and cook together. Inside, the rooms have soft beach colors and comfortable beds. Our double kitchenette room worked well for three adults, and the pet fee was affordable. Some rooms welcome pets, too. The Beacon feels like a hidden gem in Salter Path. The renovations have brought the place back to life while keeping a nostalgic, welcoming feel. Christina was warm and outgoing, Oscar was polite and attentive to our requests, and the staff helped quickly while still giving us room to enjoy our vacation.
Christina took great care of us and made both check-in and check-out really easy. When I got badly sunburned, Kristina kindly gave us aloe and sunscreen. We loved the easy private beach access, and shops and restaurants are close by. We love The Beacon and are already planning more vacations there.
We found The Beacon at the last minute for a getaway, and Kristina greeted us so warmly that the trip felt easy and comfortable from the start. Our room was clean and adorable, with nice decor and a really comfortable bed. Having beach access right at the hotel was convenient, and there was an outdoor hangout area with games and seating. It was a great stay for a good price, and we’d definitely recommend it. Say hello to Kristina if you see her!
I came across their business card recently and realized I’d never written about the stay, even though this place deserves the recognition. I visited years ago, back when it was called the Salter Path Inn, and my kids and I still talk about it. It really is a hidden gem. The owners had clearly put their hearts into making it feel like a cozy beachside stay, much more personal than the big hotel chains. We especially loved the fun beach path down to the water, and the atmosphere they created was wonderful. We’re looking forward to stopping by on my next road trip through NC to see the updates and changes.
