The front desk person was really nice and helpful. The owners have clearly put a lot into updating the furnishings and making the place nice for guests :)

Don't stay here. The pictures looked clean, but the place was the opposite in person. It wasn't clean, and the workers were rude. I called several times after booking and never got an answer, so I went early to make sure the place even existed. After seeing it, I canceled, but they refused to refund me. Fair warning.

My room was clean and came with a toothbrush, razors, soap, plus body wash and shampoo in the bathtub. You can hear cars passing, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise it was quiet. Parking was good and I could see my truck clearly. I booked one night on an app, then had to stay two, and they gave me the same deal. All around a great place to stay, with a 7-11 right across the street.

We were overwhelmed and scrambling for somewhere to stay during a fire evacuation, and this hotel welcomed us warmly. They made sure we had what we needed and offered more help if necessary. Housekeeper Loretta checked on us whenever we saw her, which made us feel cared for. Our clean, quiet room was a much-needed break from the chaos, with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, alarm clock, landline, and air conditioning. They also gave us the ground-floor room with easy access that we asked for. Rates were about $50 less than the other places we considered, and they didn't charge for our small dog, while another place wanted $35 a day. It's a great little small-town find, centrally located for gold country adventures. Highly recommended!

Before we even checked in, someone told us we were at “the bad one.” We flew in from out of town, and the stay only confirmed that warning. Our first evening, the room was missing a smoke detector, wastebasket, and hand soap. The shampoo dispenser was half full, the body wash was empty, and we got three towels for a reservation of four. On the second night, the room hadn't been refreshed, the beds weren't made, there were no clean towels, and we found stains on the comforters and sheets. I had to call the manager. He said housekeeping had taken the day off because it was too hot, and that they wouldn't enter without our permission. We were asked if we wanted to switch rooms, so we did. The new room had a smoke detector, wastebasket, hand soap, and basic necessities, but the door had no weather stripping and such a big gap that you could almost let yourself in with a credit card. In the following nights, I called for clean towels. We ran out of toilet paper halfway through our eight day stay. The manager said he'd take care of it, forgot, and I had to call again the next day before we got any. We still only got three towels, as if asking for a fourth was too much. On the last full day, we suspect housekeeping came by. The beds were made and fresh towels left, but our toothbrushes, toothpaste, purchased bar of soap, and deodorant were gone. The soap residue was still in the shower. WHY?! Room 113 has a flyer asking guests to leave good reviews to change the motel's bad reputation. They won't get one from us. Good riddance.
