Econo Lodge San Angelo

The lobby and outside are kept in mint condition, and the Christmas lights and decorations inside and out really bring on the holiday spirit. My family and I will definitely stay here again whenever we visit San Angelo. The rooms are comfortable and nicely arranged. Housekeeping goes out of its way to keep everything clean and smelling fantastic. Management and staff are excellent, and the ladies in the office were so friendly and helpful.

The woman on the staff was nice, but the photos don't show what the hotel looks like in person. The first floor was closed for remodeling, and the room they rented me was old, had a dark odor, and had an old window unit. I saw the housekeeper/maintenance woman remove gray duct tape from around the air conditioner frame and put on white tape to hide electrical wires that didn't look safe. The comforter was old too. This hotel shouldn't be on the Choice list of preferred hotels. A man was intoxicated in the parking lot, and the staff woman left me at the counter to deal with him. When I drove up, staff and others were hanging around the office entrance. There was also an old picnic table sticking out about five to six feet by the handicap parking spot. As a woman traveling alone at midnight, none of this felt good. The first Choice representative wouldn't cancel my stay. I had to call again at 1 a.m., from near a Walmart in San Angelo, and the second representative took time to find me a safe place.

We were comfortable in Room 216 and had no problems at all. After driving all night, we needed an early check-in, and they let us in at the earliest they could. Even while busy, they took time to suggest places where we could spend the short wait. Mrs. Becky Bird and her staff were super friendly and sweet. If you want to be treated with respect and kindness, stay here.

The bed was comfortable, and the room had a good TV, mini fridge, and microwave. The front desk staff were polite and knew what they were doing, but the room was lackluster, with sticky, dirty carpet. The tub and toilet were grimy, and although the sheets had been laundered, they were stained. I wouldn't stay here again.
