Inn of the Conchos

The price was good, but the room quality was awful. I should’ve asked to move after seeing the atrocious bathroom. The Wi-Fi had just been serviced and still didn’t work. The cable amounted to about ten channels, all QVC-themed. This was the worst stay I’ve had, and I’m usually easy to please.

We’d booked two nights but left after one. The room was dirty, with marks and damage on the walls, and the TV didn’t work. At check-in, things were already messy. The bedside lamp had no bulb, and the room phone had no cord connecting it to the wall. I drove to the office to report it, but the clerk couldn’t find either a bulb or a phone cord. When I asked about the advertised breakfast hours, I was told, “we don’t do that anymore.” Then I noticed the smoke detector hanging loose without a battery. Three men in the next room kept their door open as far as I could tell, with people coming and going all night. It seemed like they might have been selling drugs, or something like that. I could say more, but you get the idea. Stay here at your own peril.

For the price, this place is a good deal. There’s truck parking, trailers included, and a few restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are nice and it’s fairly quiet. I’d stay again.

There were four people hanging around and smoking weed on the top floor, and the stairwell and entrances reeked of it. We’d booked two rooms and both smelled like weed. We managed to leave and get a refund.
