San Angelo Lodge

We stayed there about four years ago, and it was a good visit. The kids liked the indoor pool, there was a bar for the grown-ups, and the breakfast room was large. You could see the hotel’s age in the bedrooms and in the services offered.

Quiet and clean, with pest control in place. Amazing affordable prices.

The staff were nice and efficient, at least. The online photos made the place look clean, updated, and nice, but seemed to be from years ago or another property. The pool was awful, with trash and dirty water. Our room had only the basics, the TV didn’t work, and there was no room phone. The mattress dipped on one side like a slat was broken, and the place was very noisy. It needs upgrades and some small extras.

The plumbing was my one problem, though things worked well enough for the rates. The staff are great, and the owner has put considerable time and money into updating the rooms and keeping the motel up. They also have security patrols on duty to help make for a pleasant stay.
