Being able to walk into downtown made the weekend especially nice, and we saved on parking while exploring the city. The place itself was lovely too: our room was roomy and modern but still cozy, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast came with coffee, juice, yogurt, a muffin, and fresh fruit, and there was plenty of parking. We had a romantic stay and would happily come back to S.A.

We picked this B&B for a short getaway from Houston, partly because downtown San Antonio was close, about a three-minute drive or a 15-minute walk. The room was cute and a good size, with a private entrance at the back. Even though the owners and we only crossed paths a few times because of COVID, they were kind each time. I also loved all the cats around the property. It was quiet despite being near downtown, which we appreciated. Sleeping was the hard part: the bed was uncomfortable, and the room felt hot both at night and during the day. We keep our house at 70 degrees, and this room seemed closer to 76, so we didn't sleep well.

The light breakfast of fruit, muffins, and yogurt suited me fine since I was there to enjoy my favorite restaurants. The house is also an easy walk to the Riverwalk, and we loved wandering around King William to admire the beautiful architecture and homes. We spent four nights in this charming B&B in the historic King William district during a return visit to my former adopted hometown. The room was spacious, the bed and bedding very comfortable, and the big bathroom had a garden tub. The furnishings and art fit the room perfectly. Both hosts were wonderful and accommodating, and Deb and Kit helped make the visit a joy. We highly recommend staying here and plan to return next fall.

The exterior is charming and well kept, and we had a good stay on our second visit. The location is handy for walking to the Riverwalk, pubs and restaurants in historic King William, with the Pearl only a short ride away. I’d recommend it and would stay again, though it didn't feel like a five-star visit. The rooms could use some TLC compared with a few years ago. They were still clean, and I enjoyed the stay.

Deb made sure we had what we needed, and we’d happily choose the Yellow Rose again. The neighborhood was quiet, and lots of places were within walking distance, including restaurants, King Williams District, the St. Fernando light & music show, and the Riverwalk. For farther outings, we used the bus, Uber, and a rental car. Our room and bed were comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. We had a lovely stay.
