Baymont by Wyndham San Antonio Downtown

The key card failed three times, so eventually I had to bang on the door to wake my brother and get in. I’d come back around 3 a.m. and asked for another key, but the employee made one without checking my name or confirming I was staying there. Earlier, check-in had been strange too. The woman at the desk said she didn’t work there and was only covering for someone with an emergency. She photographed my ID and sent it to someone else, though I had no way to know who. I received just one room key despite having two guests on the reservation. The elevator seemed out of service, and the casually dressed man I asked for directions to the stairs seemed like he might not work there either. The room had thick dust on the hair dryer and around the sink, plus dust on appliances and inside the clothing drawers. I’d left my key card with my sleeping brother before going downtown. The three people who tried to help never gave their names. The check-in worker was a younger Indian woman in a purple patterned shirt, the man who showed me the stairs was an older bald Indian man who spoke through a device in his neck, and the key card employee was an Indian man in his late 20s with shaggy hair over his ears. None seemed able to handle simple tasks or communicate well.
