Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio Riverwalk

The only issues I had were that the water took a while to heat up and the sink drained poorly. Otherwise, my room was spacious, very clean, and had central AC, with a great view. The hotel’s historic character and little details make it a favorite, and I’ve stayed at other Riverwalk hotels but feel this one offers the most. It’s right by everything, very secure with key access at every entrance, and has a dedicated floor that opens straight onto the Riverwalk. There’s also a rooftop pool and hot tub. The nightly kickback runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with three complimentary alcoholic drinks of your choice and a hot dinner. One evening they served meatballs, mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables; the next, grilled chicken, penne with Alfredo sauce, and mixed vegetables. The hot breakfast buffet each morning was great too, with waffles you make yourself, cereal, potatoes, sausage patties, eggs, biscuits and toppings, yogurt, bagels, toast, plus a soda fountain with six options available all day. For the location and amenities, this is the place I’d choose.

We didn’t need parking since we were without a car, though there is a nightly fee if you do park. The room was comfortable, just on the small side. Breakfast each morning and evening snacks and drinks were a nice extra. Drury Inn and Suites is right by the Riverwalk, with popular bars and restaurants only a short walk away, which we loved.

The breakfast and afternoon managers’ reception were both done really well, and the staff were wonderful. The rooms were spotless, carefully maintained, and extremely well appointed, with ceilings that must be about 12 feet high. The building’s architecture is fabulous, and the whole place is beautiful. We’ve also stayed at the other Drury Inn on the River Walk and liked it, but this one is way cool. Its own parking garage was handy, just check in before parking. It’s a very pleasant place where comfort is king. I wish I’d taken more, better pictures.

Breakfast and dinner had lots of options, as they usually do, and there were free drinks and popcorn too. Our room was comfortable and clean. We could see the river below, parts of the light show, and hear the cathedral bells from this great Riverwalk location. The staff acted quickly when a group in the next room started fighting.
