The Monarch San Antonio, Curio Collection By Hilton

We only stayed one night, but plan to come back. The place feels upscale, and the staff and customer service were great, like what you’d expect at a five star hotel. The rooftop restaurant was outstanding, especially the tres leches dessert. Great location for hanging out and relaxing.

After five years away, we could easily walk over to the Alamo and see the expanded grounds and exhibits from this location. We also enjoyed exploring the new Hemisfair park, with lovely views of it from our room. There were so many nice amenities that we couldn’t get to them all. The room itself had everything we needed, and the staff were kind throughout our stay. For Mother’s Day, the host greeted my wife with a glass of Prosecco, and both the host and concierge showed real interest in our visit and offered great local tips. We relaxed in the rooftop pool after a long day, with cabanas and lounge chairs in the water, then cleaned up and crossed the street for a fun dinner by the river. Breakfast at Aleteo on the 17th floor was a treat, with top notch food and service at reasonable prices for the quality and setting. It was one of our best overnight stays.

Bailey made the meal special. She was so kind and genuine, and her recommendation of the Tuna was amazing. I also liked seeing the team work so well together. Paige was super helpful, and I watched her working hard behind the bar. Frankie greeted us warmly at the hostess stand and kept that welcoming attitude until we left. Definitely come try it!

For a view of the HemispherePark, this is the place to stay. You can see the Tower and East SA really well. The rooftop bar was my favorite in San Antonio. I’d been unsure after going to the Moon’s daughter at the Thompson last Friday, but this experience was better, even though the Moon’s Daughter has a great bar. Its skyline views are limited. The first floor lobby, bar, and restaurant have lovely lighting and atmosphere. I liked the Texas sun coming in and the soothing scent, which I bought at the gift shop before leaving. This may be the best Hilton property in town, with the Canopy just ahead for service and amenities. I’d recommend a visit for the ambiance or a full stay.
