The private balcony overlooking the river was the highlight for me. Watching the boats from our own space in the morning or at night made the stay feel special. The hotel sits right on the River Walk, close to the restaurants, shops, and views, and the Hilton Palacio del RioClick to open side panel for more information blends modern amenities with historic charm in a way that felt cozy as well as sophisticated. The staff were friendly and professional from arrival through checkout, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It’s a gem, with a team that really makes it shine. I’m sharing photos of the balcony view because it shows what made this stay so memorable.

The Riverwalk view from our room was gorgeous, and we were on the highest floor without any noise bothering us. They offer disposable earplugs, but we didn’t need them. The rooms had been updated, and the holiday decorations were cute. There’s an attached restaurant, and the food was pretty good compared with other Riverwalk restaurants. We were there over the holidays with family. The location is fabulous, and the app let me arrange parking for a nominal fee. Otherwise, parking is around $50, which seems standard for Riverwalk hotels. When we entered the room there was a strange smell, so we moved to another one. It was handled quickly and didn’t seem to be a big issue. They couldn’t give us a late checkout, perhaps because The Alamo Bowl was that evening. I’d recommend the location and thought the price was pretty reasonable overall. I didn’t try the gym, bar, or breakfast.

My parents stayed here for their retirement celebration, though I didn’t stay at the property myself. I arranged wine for their room to surprise them when they arrived, and Janete from room service was wonderful. She helped add a note, let me know her team had taken care of it, and was efficient and easy to communicate with. She also had plenty of recommendations for their stay.

We enjoyed the stay mainly because of the location, with the river walk and things to do outside nearby. The lobby looked nice, though the rooms were just okay for the price. Hilton Anatole in Dallas TX is my comparison, and the service here was superb, better in comparison. Street construction was loud during the day. Valet was $59.00 a day, and you need to text 40min ahead to get your vehicle. Someone we know had their car stolen from valet, though I presume the cars are parked in a standard garage. I wasn’t there for the room anyway.

We stayed one night at this nice hotel right on the river walk, and everything was clean. I love balconies, though I didn’t try any of the amenities. The staff were very nice, and everything else was great. The pillows and sheets had a smell like bad hair bo. I usually put a towel over the pillows because otherwise my hair smells. No one else seems to notice, so maybe it’s just me, but hotels in Europe don’t smell that way. It may be the pillows themselves that need washing rather than the sheets.
