La Quinta by Wyndham San Antonio by Frost Bank Center

The bedding was visibly filthy, with hair and body-shaped marks on the sheets and what looked like DNA on the bed skirts. The hallways reeked of marijuana, and the photos had seriously misrepresented the place. It wasn't even a step above Motel 6. I lasted less than 30 minutes, but they still wouldn't give me a full refund. If you're considering staying, make sure your tetanus shot is current.

There were bugs near the coffee station, and the room had stains on both the sheets and walls. It was hot when we arrived because the AC was off, and the carpet was wet. The whole place smelled of mildew and body odor, from the elevator to the room. I expected at least a clean stay at La Quinta, but that wasn't what we got. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The bathroom tub was comfortable enough that I enjoyed a relaxing bath, but then I looked up and saw grime, possibly mold, under the soap holder and on the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel bottles. The pet area outside also needed attention: the waste bin was full and trash was scattered on the ground. We were traveling with our dog on I-10 and needed a stop while handling family business out of state. This La Quinta's location right off the interstate and its pet-friendly policy worked well for us. My sibling booked a room with two queen beds for $74 plus tax, a great price. The room was mostly clean and the beds were comfortable, though blackout curtains that covered the window better would've helped. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and board, and an old-fashioned landline phone. Breakfast was free. I made a waffle and an egg biscuit with a premade egg patty. The orange mango juice was unpleasantly sweet, but the food itself was fine. For the price, it was a very good room, and I'd stay again or recommend it to a friend.

As a long-haul driver, I spend a lot of nights in my truck, but sometimes I want to get out and stay somewhere. This place suited me well and was affordable. I asked for a room near the laundry, and the staff arranged it. The rooms were very clean.
