OYO Hotel San Antonio near AT&T Center

My family needed somewhere temporary to stay until our new place was ready, so I booked a room on July 17. After we left another motel because of bed bugs, I sent my husband to check this room for them before risking the $357. A man then called to say they couldn’t accommodate us, that he would cancel the booking, and that I wouldn’t be charged. A month later, they kept my money, saying I was a no-show. I’ve tried contacting the motel, OYO support supervisors, and Booking.com support, but no one can explain why I was marked as a no-show after being told the motel would cancel my stay and wouldn’t accommodate us. We had to spend money on another hotel and still lost what we paid OYO. I’d understand if this were my fault, but it wasn’t. No one investigated properly or even tried to check the video for what may have been dishonest employees or partners.

A really nice, quiet place to relax and not be bothered. The people were very friendly, and I loved my stay.

They took my money and then, after I’d paid cash at the motel, told me their system showed the room hadn’t been paid for. They won’t refund me. I see now that it’s a scam, so please be aware and don’t use them.

I didn’t interact much with the manager, so I can’t really speak to her customer service. The woman who runs the office and cleans the rooms, though, is wonderful, honest, and hardworking. My room was nice, clean, and presentable. The location worked well for nearby attractions, and this is the only motel on that strip that’s quiet and trouble free, without homeless people running around. The owner keeps the parking lot clear of trash, which I appreciated. My one suggestion is for the Oyo app to clearly state the deposit required for the room. It’s normal for her to ask for one, but when you book through the app, it says no deposit is needed.
