The entrance can be hard to spot, and parking is behind the building, so plan to lock your doors for the walk. Once inside, it’s an intimate lounge with a cool vibe and comfortable seating. There’s a solid mezcal selection and, especially for someone like me who had only seen three before, a very good range of sotol. Standard shots feel a bit pricey, which makes it harder to try more. I like the idea for purists, but taking a cue from the now-defunct La Ruina and adding a few simple mezcal- or sotol-forward cocktails could improve the experience.
