During Memorial Day weekend this was the only room we could find, so we were glad to have somewhere to sleep while we spent time downtown. We barely used the room, just coming back for a quick night of sleep before heading out again. The two rooms we rented were okay, but neither bathroom door would close or lock. There was also a stain on the bathroom wall that I couldn't tell was dirt or blood. This is bare minimum lodging, kind of the Spirit Airlines of places to stay. If that's not enough for you, book somewhere else in advance. I can't complain too much since it meant we didn't have to sleep in a car.

The place was so disgusting that the moment I walked in, I wanted to lie on the green carpet and draw my own chalk outline ahead of time to save the homicide detectives work. I felt like the county jail would be a hundred times cleaner, a lot cheaper, and have mostly the same neighbors. I'm tempted to bring an ultraviolet light, though I'm not sure even the light could handle seeing whatever happened in this room. If the whole city is booked and this is your last option, sleep in your car or under a bridge. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

It's a friendly, decent place if you're traveling on a budget. I met the owner, Nick, who answered my questions and was completely honest about his place. I liked it enough that I know I'll come back sometime.

The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the weekly rates were fair compared with other places. It's pet friendly if you get permission and pay the cleaning fee. The location across from USAA is great.
