Sol Cypress San Antonio; Marriott Tribute Portfolio

My first stay at Hotel Sol Cypress won’t be my last. The Museum Reach location is great, with a short walk to the River Walk in one direction and the Pearl in the other. The room was spotless and looked new, with a well-kept feel, a modern bathroom with excellent lighting, good water pressure, and a little balcony overlooking the River Walk. The lobby was welcoming, staff were fine, and breakfast was fantastic. A couple of things to know: free parking is tough to find downtown, as it is everywhere there. Also, there isn’t much on site for a toddler, so I wouldn’t choose it for a family with young kids, though there is a small dog park and the hotel is dog-friendly. It’s not five-star in the turndown-service sense, but the experience earns the rating. Great for a solo or business traveler.

We’ve been staying at Sol Cypress since before the update and Bonvoy Tribute upgrade three years ago. The location and staff keep bringing us back. You can walk to the Riverwalk entertainment district, and local restaurants and bars in Alamo heights and the Pearl District are close by. Molly has helped us book blocks if rooms, and Caitlyn at the desk and Richard at the valet stand out. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful.

I met a friend at Sol Cypress while she was staying there for a week after coming in from Chicago. We had wine and appetizers at the bar and caught up on everything going on in our lives. The food was good, and the bar service was the best. She showed me around the property, which was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like being transported to New Orleans. Really nice!

The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, and modern. The hotel itself is beautiful, minimalistic, and modern too. Good price, excellent service and amenities. It’s close to the Riverwalk and lots of local restaurants with really delicious food. You can use valet parking or park yourself in the front lot, though there’s a fee. It works for families, but I’d say it’s even better for adults.
