Check-in was a breeze, and the room looked just like the pictures. I had a very clean room, fresh linens, great A/C, and, most importantly, a comfortable bed. The staff were a big help. I’d definitely visit again.

The front desk person asked me, “Are you blind,” as if only blind people need a service dog. I’d come to SouthTown S.A.Inn with a medical/service dog and no paperwork. I usually bring the papers when flying because the airport is the only place that requires them, but this time I was driving. He said he’d charge me for the dog, and I agreed to pay. When I mentioned I’d leave a review so others would know to bring paperwork when staying there with a service dog, he handed my card back and said, “No you’re not leaving the review I have right to refuse the service to anyone.” Yes, you have that right, but there should be a reason. They take pets, and I was willing to pay since I didn’t have the papers. That shouldn’t have been a reason to refuse me and leave me with nowhere to go on a Saturday night. He seemed scared of what I’d say about him.

We came from Oklahoma for a basketball tourney and found this family run place. Newly remodeled rooms were clean, and I didn’t see any bugs, which matters a lot to me. The owner and, I think, her daughters do it all, so family owned and operated really means it here. It’s a great value if you don’t need extras like a pool or breakfast. We paid less than half what our teammates paid, and I’m so thankful we found it. I’d definitely stay again.
