Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/SeaWorld Area

As a Diamond member, I expected more convenience and a better overall stay. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the crowded parking lot came with an extra charge that felt unreasonable. There was no complimentary breakfast either, which surprised me for a hotel of this level. The laundry machines were available, but there was no way to exchange coins. I'd suggest machines that take cards or contactless payment, since most guests are used to paying that way. I hope the hotel considers this feedback for future improvements.

I was here for one night near the airport. The room could use updates, and there wasn't a USB plug anywhere. The restaurant was very good, with quick service. Lyn was an awesome bartender. I ordered grilled Mahi Mahi tacos, juicy and messy, with a red sauce packed with flavor.

My husband has stayed here a few times, and I've joined him twice since 2023. Our latest visit was in early December 2025. Would we return? No. The rooms are a good size, and there's a hot tub plus a restaurant and bar on site. The verde restaurant staff are top notch. The male desk clerk was super nice, but the young woman at the front desk, who sadly seems to always be there, is very rude. It surprised us, especially since friendliness there would make up for a lot. They don't seem to care if you're a Hilton Honors silver or gold member, or remember you if you come often. There's no hotel water unless you buy it, and the snack bar is junk food. Rooms also lack USB ports by the beds.

The rooms are clean, the bathroom has the necessities, and the service is friendly. Beyond that, this hotel offers the bare minimum, so plan to bring your own coffee or coffee maker, drinks, and food. I'd only come back if I had no other choice.
