Holiday Inn Express San Diego Mission Valley

The staff made this stay for me. Mr. Soham, AK, Sunny, AO, Dinesh, TJ, Mrs. Elizabeth, the breakfast crew, and our room attendants were all amazing. The hotel was beautiful, met our needs, and the staff were so helpful. Our huge room was comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the location was convenient. My Suga Babies had a great time in the pool. A few things did disappoint. Parking cost $24 a day, and the hot tub was out of order when I’d been looking forward to using it. For the first two nights there was no shower curtain, though our lovely room attendant sorted that out. One TV remote didn’t work either, but the manager came up and fixed the cable connections. We asked to add one night in the same room and were charged almost $400, three times the regular nightly rate. I wasn’t pleased about that at all. Even so, I’d recommend the hotel to family and friends in the San Diego area. The staff were exceptionally wonderful to me. Thank you.

For the price, the location is hard to beat. Almost all the tourist spots and the airport are about 15 minutes away. The breakfast buffet was kept stocked whenever things ran out, and the cleaning crew did an exceptional job. Front desk staff were very helpful, too. This is one of the better Holiday Inns we’ve stayed at, thanks entirely to the awesome staff. Thank you! :)

I had to leave late at night and urgently find somewhere else to stay. The staff were rude and wouldn’t discuss a cancellation or refund, and afterward there was no accountability or customer care. It felt like they simply didn’t care and were acting very shady. I’d arrived after a long trip expecting basic hotel standards, but the first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke mixed with heavy chemicals, apparently used to cover it up. The air felt stale as soon as I walked in, the room was worn out, and the linen smelled bad. They offered another room, but that one was worn out too, with bad air, an unpleasant odor, and broken AC. Staying there just wasn’t realistic. Very disappointing experience.

Our room looked new and had a microwave and fridge. Breakfast was free, well run, and had a great selection. There’s a pool and hot tub, and the hotel is near the old town. Parking is $24 a night. The sound was the one thing I didn’t enjoy. Our room had a connecting door, and the adjoining room was occupied the whole time. Noise came through easily and made it hard to sleep at night.
