The Keating hotel is in a great spot, with lots of good restaurants and bars within 1-2 blocks and plenty of attractions within a mile. The rates are fantastic, and the staff are friendly. Check-in and checkout were easy. The superior king suites have an unusual layout, probably partly because the building dates to 1890. A friend who visited described the hallways as smelling "antique," which seems understandable for a building this old. I don't have a sense of smell myself. The room was quiet enough for me, since I'm used to urban areas, but that kind of quiet might not feel quiet to someone used to the countryside. The views aren't as good as more beachfront spots, but everything else more than made up for that, and I plan to stay again. I'm especially sensitive to light and like spaces darker than most, so I had most of the lights off in my pictures.

The rooms were compact and clean, with the essentials, a mini fridge, and very comfortable beds. Entry to both the main entrance and the room used a keypad. It's right in the heart of gaslamp, with several restaurants and bars an easy walk away. The seaport area was about a 15/20 minute walk, and Ocean Beach, Coronado island, and the airport were a short Uber ride away. My room was near a pub with live music, but it never got loud enough to disturb my sleep. They also provide earplugs. Honestly, a super unique stay.

You get that real luxury Urban city life here, with beautiful views and a room I thought was amazing. The Keating hotel is right in the heart of downtown daygo (gas lamp), close to things to do, party, or karaoke, and everything is within walking distance. The customer service was just as good. The people there were so nice and went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable and worry-free. I'd recommend it for anybody, whether you're getting away with your lady, traveling solo, or bringing family. 100% recommend.

This was the worst place I've ever booked. The place feels like it's meant to be hosed down after each stay. There was no service, no ice, and nothing much beyond a paltry vending machine. So much was broken, stained, or barely working. It felt like a dirty air bnb, and we left for another hotel.

The rooms designed by Pininfarina are great, especially the ones with a view over the Gaslamp Quarter. Bring earplugs if you're staying on a weekend. Oscar was fantastic, communicating quickly and warmly throughout. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
