Argonaut Hotel

The Argonaut is a fun, memorable hotel with a distinctive feel. Its location is great, and the rooms and facilities were clean, fresh, and in good shape. Every staff member we dealt with was professional, helpful, and friendly. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks!

We’ll stay here again next time we’re back. The Argonaut is perfectly placed by the fishermen’s wharf, and there’s a nice museum and winery attached to the building. We really liked the interior design and the historic red brick setting. I think someone told us it had been a factory when it was built in the early 1900s. Everything was clean, and the staff were professional and welcoming. Enrique went out of his way to make us feel at home and gave us useful tips for things to do within walking distance.

The rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the service throughout our stay was top notch. The front desk was second to none, and the valet was courteous and efficient. I’m bad at remembering names, but I do remember Joana, the concierge, who went above and beyond with helpful advice. Thanks to the whole staff for making the visit unforgettable. We’ll stay here again when we’re in the city.

The location is fantastic, and the lobby feels warm and inviting, but the stay was a letdown. We’d been here ten years ago for my husband’s birthday and came back to recreate that trip. This time felt far below the first visit. The room was clean but had no extras: no cotton swabs, makeup towel, or robes, and the small water bottles cost around $6. The only add-on was a wrapped stuffed animal you could open and keep for $20. We’d paid for a package with breakfast, then learned it covered only a pastry and coffee, not an entree. We waited at the dining room entrance for over two minutes without anyone greeting or seating us, then left and ate elsewhere. Service was poor from the start. In the rain, we had to ask an annoyed parking team where to leave the car, despite having only backpacks for one night and paying $75 to park. There’d been a blackout elsewhere in SF, so the team may have been busy and stressed, but check-in staff were also unfriendly and didn’t volunteer basic details like checkout time. For the price, the value was terrible.
