The digital check in was quick and easy, with no line, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This older hotel, which I think dates to the 1920s, has some character. It’s in a central, safe part of downtown SF, and the rates were very reasonable. A good option if you want to keep costs down in San Francisco.

The rooms are very clean, with comfortable cotton bedding and fluffy towels, and it was remarkably quiet. The staff are gracious and made me feel at home. It’s a charming hotel over 115 years old, in a fabulous spot about three minutes from Chinatown. The downtown price is very reasonable, and I plan to come back soon.

Even with the hotel so central, our room was a peaceful retreat with almost no street noise. It was spotless, nicely equipped, and had all the amenities we expected for a comfortable visit. We enjoyed our week there, and public transport was right at the doorstep.

We spent a weekend here in fall 2022. The room was clean, and it’s a classy hotel. We had to climb a winding staircase to reach our second floor room. Breakfast in the morning was a notch above the usual continental spread, with smoked salmon one day, though it wasn’t available every day. Bush Street is a bit rough around the edges, but generally felt safe.

The room was clean and spacious, and the neighborhood felt safe and clean. The staff were polite, welcoming, and helpful. It’s an older budget hotel, but for what we paid, it was a good deal. The location is convenient for seeing San Francisco’s main attractions, and it works well for a short visit or a few nights. Housekeeping each day isn’t included, though you can request it for an extra charge. The Wi-Fi was poor, the AC made a lot of noise, and there weren’t enough outlets in convenient spots. It’s a simple, affordable stay in a great location.
