San Jose Marriott

For a work trip I didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but I stopped to look. The area was clean and seemed like a restful place to lounge, and both looked inviting. There’s also a good-sized gift shop with snacks, drinks, clothes, and other goodies, plus pool tables in the bar area. I didn’t get a chance to tour the whole property, but there seems to be plenty to offer. I got an unexpected upgrade from a high-rise king room to an 800-square-foot king suite with a patio. The gym was on the small side but had lots of great equipment. The one letdown was valet parking being full. Additional parking was close, at least. I’m really happy with this Marriott and had a good experience. It’ll be my go-to when I’m in the area.

I keep coming back here for work trips because the service has been outstanding every time. The downtown spot is great, and having both a gym and pool on site is a real plus. It has what I need, and I’d happily recommend it.

Felix made check-in a pleasure. Everything in the room was neat, the towels were fresh, and the beds were comfortable. I was only there briefly, but it was nice to have so many dinner spots and coffee shops within a 15-minute walk.

The location worked well for the convention center, and housekeeping was great. Even so, I wouldn't book here again. My weekend got off to a rough start when the front desk was curt as I asked about a large pending charge after mobile check-in. The room was pretty dim, and the beds seemed shorter than a standard double. My feet hung over the end. I could also hear water running through the poorly insulated pipes when people in nearby rooms showered, which woke me up.
