Sonesta Select San Jose Airport

After I left, the hotel called right away to say my wallet had been turned in and was safely with the front desk. I'd accidentally left it in the ladies' restroom, and it was a very expensive wallet. Someone could easily have walked off with it, but an honest, kind person handed it in. To the woman at the front desk, I'm sorry I can't remember your name. Thanks for looking out for me and mine. Your quick action and integrity meant a lot, and reminded me there are still humble, good-hearted people around. This experience alone has me planning to return. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism. I'll be seeing you soon.

Elyas made the stay special by upgrading my standard room. I ended up with a balcony, an extra couch, a separate privacy area, and a great view from a high floor. The bathroom was spacious and pristine. The bed was so comfortable that I had no neck issues for the first time in a long while, and the pillows were incredibly soft yet supportive. If they use that pillow material on site, I'll have to research it! The room was thoughtfully laid out, with several charging ports, a fridge, TV, work desk, and seating area. The shower shifted smoothly from cool to warm, the toilet flushed strongly, and housekeeping was prompt and thorough. From check-in onward, the service, comfort, and attention to detail made this one of the best hotel stays I've had. The furnishings and materials, bedding, attentive staff, and overall care all stood out. I'd stay at Sonesta Select San Jose Airport again 100%. Thank you to the hotel and to Elyas.

At 3:00 PM, when I arrived for check-in, the hotel told me to wait until 4:00 PM. I'd called ahead to confirm the earliest check-in time and had been told 3:00 PM, so I'd planned my arrival around that. They offered no fix or accommodation. Giving me one time in advance and then refusing check-in on arrival shows poor operations and little regard for the guest experience. It undermines trust and raises serious concerns about their commitment to basic hospitality.

The only bright spot was the friendly breakfast staff. The breakfast itself was coffee, an apple, and cereal. The elevators were dirty and very slow. I booked because the hotel was near SJC and had an 8.8/10 Delta Cars & Stays rating, which I don't think was accurate. The shuttle didn't come through: my calls at 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. went unanswered, so I had to take a cab. Room 445 had dirty linens, a bad smell, mold, an unclean bathroom, and a broken shower light. Check recent reviews before booking.
