Home2 Suites by Hilton San Juan

The breakfast area was great, and everyone working there was really friendly. The hotel has been renovated recently, so it looked and felt almost brand new. One of the best home2 suites I’ve stayed in. I’d definitely recommend it.

The breakfast had a great range of choices, and the staff were so friendly. Most of the place was clean, though I found a long black hair across the silverware drawer when I went for a fork. My room, 213, also had very weak shower pressure. I’d still stay here again if I’m in the area.

The rooms were clean and the whole place had a good feel. I thought it was a very nice building. Some of the one-star complaints I read seemed ridiculous, like someone expecting a debit-card purchase to be taken off their card the next day after they brought cash. How would that even work?

I was there for a three-night business trip, and the first room was dirty. There was hair from the previous guest all over the bathroom, including the sink, shower, floor, and toilet seat. Shoe or boot prints were still on the kitchen floor, and there were bits of trash in the bathroom, kitchen, and carpet. I asked how to get it cleaned, since they usually clean every other day. They wanted photos by email, so I sent them, then checked the next morning before leaving for work. Staff assured me they’d take care of it. When I came back, the room still hadn’t been cleaned and housekeeping had left for the day, so they moved me to another room. The air conditioning in that room wouldn’t go below 74°, and one lamp wouldn’t turn on. I reported both the next morning, and they fixed them while I was out. But I found more hair from the previous guest on the nightstand beneath the phone, plus little bits of trash on the carpet. I noticed it after calling downstairs about the neighbors. For about an hour they were repeatedly slamming doors and riding motorized boards up and down the hall. They stopped after I complained, but then their TV was much too loud. Two coworkers staying there also told me their rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, though they were on different floors. Staff couldn’t work out where the smoker was, so they brought her air freshener. Very disappointing.
