The rooftop pool has a nice city view, though it gets crowded, especially the small hot tub. The gym is decent but really warm, and could use a fan or an opening window. The hotel is nicely designed, with comfortable beds, and its location near campus and downtown makes it convenient for staying in SLO. I'd stay here again.

The pool view of the green hills is beautiful, and the location is near several things to do, including Mission, hearts castle, Madonna Inn, and pismo beach. The room itself was just okay, and no one cleaned it during our 3 nights, even though we left the maid service sign up and were gone all day. Breakfast was basic: Costco sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches that the kids liked, plus apple or cheese filled pastries, coffee, and tea.

There’s plenty of breakfast to choose from, and it’s free each day: eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffles, pancakes, and pastries. The gym has the usual equipment and a water filling station. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the covered parking seemed fairly secure. The pool and hot tub are small but well maintained and comfortable. It’s a pet friendly hotel, just pick up after your pet and leave a daily tip of at least $20.

We liked our stay enough to come back for a second visit. It’s about 6 mins from downtown, and the rooftop pool is nice and temperature controlled. Breakfast was decent, and everyone was friendly and in good spirits. They also had coffee available throughout the day.

The location in SLO worked perfectly for us, and the breakfast and service were amazing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bad weather led us to extend by one more day, and reception handled the request seamlessly. We had a pleasant stay at La Quinta and would love to visit again. Highly recommend it!
