Courtyard San Marcos

I came here late at night after leaving a nearby hotel because of cleanliness problems, and felt the difference right away. This place was calm, clean, and well maintained, so I was comfortable as soon as I arrived. The room was tidy, the bed was large and comfortable, and I finally got a good night’s sleep. I also liked the view. The staff were kind and helpful. When I needed to do laundry, they offered detergent without me having to ask, and the dryer was free. I’d definitely stay here again if I return to San Marcos.

For the money, the room was fine, but the bathrooms in both rooms were somewhat moldy and the shower floors were dirty. The small fridges never worked, and staff didn’t seem interested in helping or in guests’ experience. It felt like they were only there to check people in and out. San Marcos is a busy town, so I guess they can afford to operate that way. I still haven’t found a nice hotel in San Marcos.

The lobby bar/bistro served excellent dinner at more than reasonable prices. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the customer service was excellent. For a smaller hotel, the service was top notch. Seth at the front desk was especially sweet. Definitely recommend!

Miss Marleen checked us in and was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and caring. We also got a complimentary upgrade through my Marriott Elite level, and we really enjoyed the room. My son especially loved having the extra space. The next morning, we used our elite breakfast cards for coffee and food. The whole visit was wonderful, with an amazing crew at the property. The location worked well for us, too: it faces the large shopping outlet, and it’s a 13-minute drive to both San Marcos Square and New Braunfels. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return.
