The bathroom was filthy. There was genital hair on the counter, across the bathtub, and on the toilet seat. When I asked for a refund, they only offered to move me to another room that was just as disgusting. Avoid this place. For the same price there are other hotels that meet basic sanitation standards. I personally chose the hotel just up the block, the one that rhymes with extended sway. It cost the same and had a better kitchenette and was sanitary.

I found the stay comfortable, and the service was friendly. Everyone we encountered, guests and employees alike, was pleasant. Our top-floor room and bathroom seemed very clean, and the layout was unusual: bathroom first, then a pull-out couch, a counter with another sink, microwave and refrigerator, and finally the bed. The hotel is well placed in the city near several business areas, though I wouldn't recommend walking the streets late at night. They also had a small continental breakfast.

We arrived with the kids while escaping a hurricane back home, and left covered in bites. I'm 100% certain this place had bed bugs. Management was nowhere to be found and never returned my calls. Staying here cost me hundreds of dollars, then I threw away hundreds more in clothes and shoes because I was afraid of bringing bugs home. I also paid a small fortune to have the car professionally cleaned. What a nightmare. I would've been better off riding out the storm at home.

The room worked well for me, but aside from the gentleman who welcomed me at check-in, the staff didn't seem very friendly. I arrived around 3:30 p.m. and the older man at the desk greeted me by name, then asked the clerk to check me in under my last name. She seemed reluctant to handle it. I was given a first-floor accessible room, which suited my major orthopedic issues. It was cool and comfortable, and in acceptable condition. The furniture, microwave, safe, and refrigerator all worked. I did find a bug or two in the shower and rinsed them away. The shower floor barrier looked worn but still worked. The hotel seems a step above others in its category, based on the room. I was surprised that the clerk didn't mention the pool, free Wi-Fi, or fitness room, though she did have me initial information about smoking. I used the gym and went to the breakfast area the next day for hot cocoa and a small cup of milk. Whenever I passed employees, they didn't greet me. The woman at breakfast looked at me and said nothing after I wished her good morning. I said hello to several employees near the fitness room too, with no response. After 11 p.m. the outside door is locked, so guests need a key or have to ring the bell to get in. As a government traveler for over 33 years, I expect professional courtesy from hotel staff. Parking was a bit tight for a large vehicle, and there was only one accessible spot next to the front entrance. Neither the outside front door nor the interior entrance door opens automatically.
