Extended Stay America Select Suites - Salt Lake City - Union Park

The location was only okay for me. Getting in and out is awkward, parking is limited, and it's not an easy walk to places. I wouldn't walk around there at night. I heard loud traffic constantly because it's near the freeway, and the building feels old. The drains clogged, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and I could hear other guests. Water leaks set off the fire alarm multiple times around 3-4 a.m. Guests' dogs were often barking or aggressive, and I wouldn't bring my own dog. They also let someone keep an off-leash, dog-aggressive pet behind the front desk and use the hallways like a private dog park. Room service wasn't dependable or thorough. Some staff seemed to be trying hard, but were overloaded and rushing to get essentials done because others were dropping the ball. I also saw the manager speak rudely to staff and guests multiple times. The guests I saw were just asking a question, or the manager needed to raise something with them and did it nastily. I work in hospitality too, and even on a bad day I wouldn't speak to people that way. My manager would probably warn me about my conduct.

I watched Gale harass an older Black woman who was staying there long-term. She was disabled and just needed a little more time to move her things to a different room. The police were called, and I heard all the drama. The woman was so rude, and it completely ruined my stay. This extended stay doesn't care about guests' comfort. You couldn't pay me to stay there.

Tifney, Paul, and Kiona have been good to us, and the staff are usually friendly and kind. One person tends to have an attitude, but overall the people here make this a decent place to live. It's hard to justify spending much beyond the room rate, though. We have to wash our own towels, and replacements for towels and sheets cost extra. The prices for washing, drying, and the vending machines are high.

My room was immaculate, and whenever I've needed something during my stay, the staff have done their best to take care of it, even after hours. Lili, Angel, and Tiffany have been top-notch with service and accommodations, and they pay close attention to detail. The staff here have phenomenal attitudes. They're humble, caring, and willing to go the extra mile for the customer experience, which I really appreciate and don't see often at hotels. I'd recommend this location 100%.
