Comfort Suites Sanford

I was nervous about staying here after reading reviews, but I'm glad we came. Our room, 114, was quiet, and staff were friendly morning, noon, and night. Since we're pastors too, we joined the church service next door on Sunday at 11. It was right beside the hotel and wasn't loud. Breakfast had a nice selection and tasted really good, and everything you need is close by, so it could be a relaxing place to stay. A couple of small things: the toilet handle worked if I pulled it up, though the pump needs changing, and there was a little mold on the soap holder attached to the shower wall. Still, it was a great stay and I'd return. I wanted to share an honest account so others won't feel as worried as I did.

Ms. Nikki at the front desk made my stay so much better. She was incredibly sweet, accommodating, and kept trying to find a fix for whatever came up.

We liked this hotel when we stayed six years ago, but now it feels run down. The front desk staff weren't friendly, and there was no complimentary coffee or water in the lobby. For $250 for two nights, I expected at least that much, like other hotels offer. They close off the whole downstairs seating area after breakfast, so there's nowhere to sit and talk with family. Half the room outlets didn't work and the lamp was bent. The parking lot had boots, zip ties, and a steak knife sticking up from a box in a parking space, which felt sketchy. I wouldn't stay here. Spend the extra money at the new Home 2 suites they built last year off highway 1.

The room was excellent, clean, well stocked, and the furnishings were in good shape. Staff were kind, and breakfast was very good, tidy, and organized. The building needs some work, though: hallway flooring was heavily worn with broken tiles, and there was damage near the elevator. Water pressure was weak in the morning and got even worse by evening. Parking wasn't great, but I'm not sure the location leaves them a solution. With some refurbishing and better water pressure, this could easily be a four-star stay.
