ITH Santa Barbara Surf Hostel

ITH hostel in Santa Barbara ended up being the highlight of my trip there. The community feel comes through in the daily activities the host and staff organize, helping travellers enjoy their stay and meet each other. The staff were kind and helpful, and I saw them cleaning every day. The bedsheets were clean, too. Bobby deserves a special mention for taking fellow travellers fishing and on a hotspring trail hike. Both were really fun. Rosey was extra friendly and helpful while I was there. My one downside is that ITH has set the bar way too high for any hostels I stay at after this. Wishing ITH the best, and hoping it grows while continuing to bring comfort and warmth to future travellers!

Within a couple of hours of checking in, I'd already made connections and memories with people I'll remember for a long time. I had an amazing Santa Barbara trip in large part thanks to ITH hostel. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it's hard to imagine another one topping it. The location is great, close to the beach and downtown. A few of us went downtown to play pool each night. Check-in was smooth, the beds were clean and comfortable, and each had curtains, an outlet, and a small reading light. The bathrooms and toilets were always sparkling, and the kitchen was really well stocked. I'll definitely be back. Shoutout to Zack, Rosey, Maxine and Huseyin. They were amazing hosts and genuinely kind people.

Perfectly placed downtown, near the beach and right by the amtrak. It was always clean, and the staff were so nice. Julio deserves a special shoutout for stopping what he was doing to help me look for my lost items. Great experience, and I'd do it again.

It's easy to meet people in the great common area, and the staff clearly care about making the place welcoming. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the location walkable and peaceful, close to the best spots in Santa Barbara. One of the better hostels I've stayed in. I'd absolutely come back.
