Courtyard by Marriott Santa Fe

I was in Albuquerque for work and, with the weather looking good for skiing, spontaneously booked a night in Santa Fe. The facilities were fine, though the rooms felt a bit dated. Staff were excellent and polite. Ian was especially helpful when I called about belongings I’d left in the room, and the customer service made this a great experience.

We canceled our reservation within the stated time frame, which was buried in the fine print, but were still charged $126. When we called to dispute it, the manager was unbelievably rude and arrogant, refused to refund us, and kept the cancellation fee. Outrageous. It felt like a scam. The franchise’s corporate office couldn’t help us either. Don’t book here, they’ll rip you off. There’s a reason for the 3-star rating. We’ve been Marriott Bon Voy members for decades and hadn’t had a problem before 2/12/26.

Armando deserves a special shoutout. He was working late and still went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay, with outstanding service. The room was clean, service fantastic, and the whole experience comfortable. I had a wonderful time at the Courtyard Marriott and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Fe.

The bed was lumpy, the air conditioning unit near it was loud, and the room smelled horrible. There was barely any artwork or effort to make the space pleasant, and the lighting left it dark. We got very few towels, and staff pushed back when we asked for more. The TV was such poor quality it rattled, and we could barely hear it. The windows had either blackout shades or no shades, so it was dark or there was no privacy. I never expected Marriott to have such poor standards. I’ll research more before defaulting to them. This felt like a Red Roof or a Motel 6. Corporate Marriott should step in, or this location will keep bringing down the brand.
