Regent Santa Monica Beach

Fernando, the lead doorman, deserves special mention. His warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made each day easier and more enjoyable. The personalized service from the whole staff was unbelievable; people seemed to know my name from the moment I arrived, and every interaction surpassed expectations. The Regent is a stunning hotel. I was there alone on a business trip, but I’m already planning to bring my family back. It’s earned a lifelong guest.

Rain during our stay meant we missed the pool and outdoor areas, where live music had been planned for the Christmas period. That was the only real disappointment, and it was entirely due to the weather. We also hoped to have dinner on Christmas night at 9:00 pm, but Orla was closed. It’s refined and elegant, though not especially suited to children, so another dining option in the hotel would be a useful addition. We stayed over Christmas at the Regent Santa Monica Beach with our children, who are 12 and 14, and our dog. This was easily the best five-star hotel experience we’ve had. The location is ideal, across from the beach and close to Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica Place, Third Street Promenade, and the main roads toward Los Angeles. Everything is walkable, yet the hotel feels calm and exclusive. Our Two-Bedroom Suite with Patio was enormous, beautifully designed, and exceptionally well cared for. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms large and elegant, and the living area had both a sofa with coffee table and a dining table with extra seats. There were two large TVs, Dyson hair dryers in each bathroom, soft bathrobes, personalized umbrellas, branded bags, and plush bathroom mats. Two refrigerators, plenty of glassware, and two pod coffee machines were provided, with pods constantly replenished by housekeeping. Room service was excellent. The room stayed spotless, and glasses, ice, water, sheets, and towels were regularly restocked. Our dog had a quality bed and accessories, plus a small scarf embroidered with his name. The slippers were unusually soft and comfortable, well above the usual five-star standard. Both private patios had lounge seating, fire pits, and electric awnings, with partial views of the beach and Santa Monica Pier. There was also direct beach access from the hotel’s back level. Every day brought small surprises, including two personalized photo frames meant for a family picture taken under the hotel’s Christmas tree. These touches made the stay feel personal. Valet was courteous and efficient, though expensive at $100 per night. Every staff member was kind, professional, helpful, and smiling. The property is widely regarded as one of Santa Monica’s more refined luxury hotels, and the modern, elegant design, materials, comfort, and attention to detail make that clear. It was an outstanding stay, and we’ll recommend it and return.

Fernando and Antonio were so helpful. They always greeted us by name with a smile. Every detail at the Regent felt considered, and the rooms, service, and food all impressed me. Even the entry-level room was spacious at 720 sq ft and felt homey as well as luxurious. The complimentary minibar, pet fee included in the resort fee, bidet, and Dyson in the rooms are some of the things that put this hotel in another league among five-star places in the area. Best hotel experience I’ve had in LA. I loved it.

It was really peaceful, with amazing views of the Santa Monica Pier and ocean. Parking options include valet, street parking, or another garage. The location is good for walking, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I loved this hotel.
